The Domino Chick
More adventures from the road
Friday, September 17th, 2004
I know that every other post is one in which I apologize for the lack of posts and then promise to post more often. So I'll just say it once more, and then you can just assume it for all subsequent posts. I have a good reason for not posting, though - my travel schedule. I really don't know how Ed manages such consistently good content while he's on the road. I makes my brain hurt to even think of posting half the time I'm out there. So, a recap of the travel since I last posted: After San Francisco, I went to Philadelphia for a little birthday vacation. After I returned, I was home for a few days, then headed to Dallas. I am fortunate, because I have friends in almost every city I visit. Dallas is no exception, though my friends there are a little odd - you're more likely to see them on the Discovery channel than at a corporate event. They're all smart, talented people, and helped make my trip better, even though it was so freakin' humid there! I don't know how you southerners stand it.
From there, I headed back to Philly for the weekend, then up to Boston for a seminar. I presented a session on implementing Domino on Linux, which, as you know, is kind of my little pet project. It was well-received, and it looks like be visiting a few customers to talk to them about it. I also, like another attendee, left some clothes at the Westin after the conference, which the staff kindly shipped back to me. I had a cold while I was there (which seems to be a running theme when I speak at conferences in Boston), and I think that combined with the tons of travel had me a little forgetful at that point.
After Boston, I had a quick trip to San Francisco, and I've been home for a week. I had some customer-related work to do, but sometimes it's nice to be able to do it in your own city, not to mention your own home office. I'll be traveling some more in the coming months - my house-sitter will be sooo happy - and I'll be sure to write up some trip reports. However, I do have to get some studying under my belt soon, and I'm sure that'll give me tons of fodder for the blog. I'm going to be doing a lot of stuff with Workplace and Portal in the next couple of months, and of course playing with the Domino 7 beta, and I'll be sure to report back to my loyal readers.
By the way, I do have an RSS feed, for those of you who get annoyed coming back here to see the same old content week after week. :-)
